Hot Dipped Galvanised finishing after fabrication for cable ladders, cable trays and accessories are made of mild steel material. The fabricated products are completely immersed in a bath of molten zinc to gain a metallic bonding with a sufficient thickness of zinc, completely coating all surfaces, edges and welds. The zinc coating thickness complies with BS EN ISO 1461:2009 or ASTM A123 Standards and AS/NZS 4680 Standards.
Products with HDG finishing are protected from exposure to extreme weather and particular mechanical abrasions. Being a commonly used method to prevent corrosion, the coating requires minimal maintenance and provides corrosion protection for up to 50 years in most environments.
Epoxy powder (or polyester) electro-coating is a process where a layer of cured thermosetting resin is anodised and adheres to the steel surface. The epoxy powder coat provides a glossy finish surface to the steel surface and acts as a protective barrier to corrosion. The finished products are usually recommended for indoor use.
Special-grade polyester powder could be applied if the finished products are used outdoors and in abnormal environments, such as coastal environments. The epoxy powder coating process could be applied to the finished products as follows:
